A breakthrough innovation driven by the LCA60T airship !
A breakthrough innovation driven by the exceptional size of the LCA60T airship.
Historically, rigid airships were secured to the ground using a single mast, making movement difficult and often leading to incidents when returning to the hangar.
Today, FLYING WHALES is once again embracing innovation with a dual system, in which the mast is complemented by a rear system that stabilizes, secures, and enables the movement of the LCA60T.
These mobile superstructures adapt to different scenarios: holding the aircraft in position during departure, upon return from flight, as well as ensuring its safe transfer to the hangar. All operations are carried out under the control of three ground operators. Real-time adjustments based on weather conditions further ensure the safety of both people and property.
A front airdock, in the form of a tall mobile mast, captures the nose of the aircraft, complemented by a rear airdock that ensures overall balance. Each system includes precision winches that manage the aircraft’s approach dynamics during landing, even in windy conditions exceeding 50 km/h.
🎯 The first tests of this key system are scheduled for 2027, in partnership with GROUPE ADF.
