A new generation of aircraft is redefining air transport.
During the roundtable “Aerospace Unbound: Emerging Aircraft Programs” organized by Aéro Montréal, Arnaud Thioulouse, CEO of FLYING WHALES QUÉBEC, shared how international collaboration is enabling the emergence of sovereign and innovative solutions to address logistical challenges.
With its LCA60T airship, FLYING WHALES offers a transport solution capable of supporting the economic development of remote and hard-to-access regions: deployment of renewable energy, access to First Nations communities, mining logistics, access to healthcare… all while reducing the environmental impact of transport.
At a time when aerospace and supply chain resilience are at the heart of the strategic priorities of France and Québec, this cooperation has enabled the development of tomorrow’s aviation technologies—distributed hybrid-electric propulsion and associated flight control systems, as well as lightweight structures—propelling their respective industries into the next generations of aircraft.
The FLYING WHALES program demonstrates the benefits of transatlantic cooperation built on the complementarity of ecosystems and the mobilization of industrial and academic partners to address the challenges of reindustrialization, sovereignty, and environmental transition.
