An innovative, nature-inspired architecture for our FAL

The architectural design of our factory in Nouvelle-Aquitaine is based on an iterative and scientific approach inspired by biomimicry. The process begins with a basic parametric profile whose form evolves through generative algorithms informed by analyses of physical, structural, and climatic constraints. Each iteration refines the relationship between material, structure, and environment, until reaching an optimal balance between performance, harmony, and landscape integration.

💡 This approach reduces steel consumption by 50% compared to conventional hangars.

The site will feature two types of buildings:

  • Logistics facilities, whose architecture is designed to blend seamlessly into the surrounding landscape.

  • Two large halls with undulating silhouettes that visually soften their height, making their peaks barely visible from nearby viewpoints. This living-inspired form ensures a gentle and harmonious integration into the site.

Designed by an innovative and experienced consortium — architects GAAMMA (Goudchaux Architecte & Associés and Mamou-Mani Architecte) and the engineering firm Terrell, under the delegated project management of SEML Route des Lasers — the project embraces a comprehensive approach to sustainability: material reduction, resource optimization, and thoughtful landscape integration make it a low environmental impact operation.

The public inquiry (link) regarding the future Economic Activity Zone dedicated to the airship industry in Laruscade has concluded with a favorable opinion, marking a key milestone toward making the project a reality.

🔜 Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2026.
