CHIEF FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR / CHIEF THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE INSTRUCTOR, AIRSHIP CATEGORY



FLYING WHALES is an extraordinary industrial adventure.

We are developing an air transport solution to support the economic development of landlocked regions and significantly reduce the environmental footprint of cargo transport.

FLYING WHALES has formed a consortium to design, build on three continents and operate worldwide a fleet of LCA60T airships capable of loading and unloading up to 60 tons of cargo (wood, wind turbine blades, containers, mobile hospital, etc.) in hover flight, with a particularly low environmental footprint. This transport system is unique in the world. FLYING WHALES is also developing FLYING

WHALES SERVICES, the operating company for this fleet, which will combine the skills of an airline and an airport company.

Within FLYING WHALES SERVICES, we are opening the Approved Training Organisation. This entity is in charge of training our futur pilots and mechanics, that will operate our LCA60Ts.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for a CHIEF FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR / CHIEF THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE INSTRUCTOR, AIRSHIP CATEGORY who will work at the flight school of FLYING WHALES SERVICES.

YOUR MISSIONS:

Within the Training department, you bring your vision to the necessary instruction for the safe and profitable operation of the LCA60T.

This instruction will be provided onto a certified blimp to successfully deliver a CPL(As) to the students and a LCA60T rating will be added after its certification.

You are able to participate in the ATO management as Head of Training and Chief of theoretical knowledge instructor.

You build expertise around the operations of our training airship, being at the crossroads between the training department, the regulation department and the compliance department.



Your main tasks will be:

  • Participate to the set-up of the flight training organization (ATO) in accordance with the applicable FCL regulations, the training requirements and all other applicable laws.

  • Put in place, in cooperation with the compliance department, the training organization certification in EASA and, when required, in all other countries where FLYING WHALES will set up a flight school.

  • Guaranties that the training provided complies with the FCL requirements, the satisfactory integration of flight training in an aircraft or flight simulation and theoretical knowledge instruction.

  • Manage the supervision of the progress of students.

  • Manage theoretical knowledge subjects.

  • Perform theoretical and flight instruction.

YOUR EDUCATION & EXPERIENCES:

In order to fulfill these missions, the expected profile is as follows:

  • Education: CPL (As), (A) or (H)

  • At least significant experience in

    • Head of training within an EASA approved training organization and/or

    • commercial operations of an airship with at least an experience in theoretical and flight instruction.

  • Knowledge EASA FCL regulations.

  • Nice to have: A60 Type flight instructor experience

YOUR COMPETENCIES:

  • French driving licence B

YOUR QUALITIES:

  • Leadership and teamwork, very good communication skills.

  • You are fluent in English, level C1 should be considered the norm.

  • MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
