AIRSHIP A60R GROUND CREW MEMBER
for FLYING WHALES SERVICES

FLYING WHALES is an extraordinary industrial adventure.

We are developing an air transport solution to support the economic development of landlocked regions and significantly reduce the environmental footprint of cargo transport.

FLYING WHALES has formed a consortium to design, build on three continents and operate worldwide a fleet of LCA60T airships capable of loading and unloading up to 60 tons of cargo (wood, wind turbine blades, containers, mobile hospital, etc.) in hover flight, with a particularly low environmental footprint. This transport system is unique in the world. FLYING WHALES is also developing FLYING

WHALES SERVICES, the operating company for this fleet, which will combine the skills of an airline and an airport company.

Within FLYING WHALES SERVICES, we are opening the Approved Training Organisation. This entity is in charge of training our futur pilots and mechanics, that will operate our LCA60Ts.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for a GROUND CREW MEMBER who will work at the flight school of FLYING WHALES SERVICES and will ensure in teamwork the ground operations of the training blimps under the supervision of the Ground Crew Chief and maintains the operational capability of the ATO.

YOUR MISSIONS :

Within the Training Department, the Ground Crew members working under the direction of the Crew Chief and assigned team leads, performing duties necessary to maintain safe, efficient operation of the airship and participating in airship launching and landing activities, as well as the ground handling of the airship during hangar exit and entry.



Your main missions will be:

  • Performs airship and ground support systems management when the airship is moored on the mast

  • Drives ground support vehicles pertinent to mission objectives

  • Follows all safety regulations in accordance with company policy

  • Assists airship mechanics in performing tasks as necessary

  • Performs hangar operations and maintenance support functions as directed

  • Performs ground support equipment (GSE) cleaning and maintenance duties as directed by the Crew Chief and assigned team leads

  • Travels in support of airship operations

  • Represents the company and airship operations in a professional and appropriate manner in all aspects on and off the job

YOUR EDUCATION & EXPERIENCES :

In order to meet these missions, the expected profile is as follows:

  • Degree in a technical profession

  • Minimum one year experience in a technical profession or in airship operation

    • SP : Special driver licence, Truck Licence, Tools Licence

    • Experienced : Airship handling experience



YOUR COMPETENCIES:

Theoretical understanding and practical handling of mechanical and electrical systems able to read and communicate in English / A-level or equivalent

  • French driving licence B

  • French driving licences (BE, C)

  • CACES : R489 CAT 3 (Forklift)

  • CACES : R486 CAT A (Scissor Lift)

  • CACES : R486 CAT B (Boom Lift)

  • HAZMAT/ ADR
