We design today and we will build and operate tomorrow a fleet of airships, the LCA60T, intended for cargo transport. Capable of loading and unloading up to 60 tons of cargo (wood, wind turbine blades, containers, mobile hospitals, etc.) in hovering flight, with a reduced environmental footprint, this transport system is unprecedented.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a Design Engineer to join the Flying Whales Design Team in Suresnes. Attached to the Design Leader, you will be responsible to the subjects related to design and prepare and perform stack-up definition of the LCA60T structure and its interfaces. And soon you will be responsible for the stack up team when the team grows.
YOUR MISSIONS:
Prepare and perform stack-up definition of the LCA60T structure and its interfaces.
Advanced GD&T analysis, interfaces definitions and ICD establishment.
Plan, organize and prioritize the various subjects related to stack up for the Airframe of the LCA60T.
Participate in the organization and planning of structural design activities related of stack up.
Participate in the organization and development of design methods and tools related of stack up.
Analyze and respond to requests from the various departments associated with Airframe.
Support the multidisciplinary teams responsible for work packages internal and external.
Interact with different actors to define innovative and efficient solutions.
Support the structural design team in the design of the various components related of the stack up.
Ensure the traceability of the analyses and trade-offs to guarantee the technical relevance of the work performed (technical validation).
Propose innovative solutions during the execution of the different studies.
YOUR EDUCATION & EXPERIENCES:
Education: BAC+5 engineering degree (or equivalent) in aeronautical or mechanical field.
Previous experience: At least 5-year experience with design and/or stack up analysis.
YOUR COMPETENCIES:
Knowledge of:
o Stack-up analysis according ASME Y 14.5 (or ISO GD&T standards).
o Elaboration/preparation of mechanical drawings on CAD (2D or 3D).
o CATIA V5 – Part Design, Generative Shape Design, Functional & Tolerance Annotation (CATIA V6 / 3DExperience is a plus).
Stack up software (MECAmaster, 3DCS) is a plus.
o Elaboration of ICD documents.
o Design of aircraft structure.
o Aerospace manufacturing techniques and process.
o Product lifecycle management tools.
o Knowledge on Stress Analysis – FEA is a plus.
o Knowledge of EBOM and standard parts for aeronautic industry.
o Manufacturing, integration process and procedures.
o Monte Carlo simulations (Six Sigma), Design for Value, score card.

o Stack-up applicable in main structures
o Mechanical Design
o Mechanical Assemblies
YOUR QUALITIES:
Able to elaborate the stack-up for the main structures based on the assembly principles and aeronautical practices.

Good communication in English, French is a real plus.
Other skills: MS Office.
